Our message is in today’s Bay of Plenty Times
If you pick up today’s Bay of Plenty Times, you’ll see our message to Tauranga City Council loud and clear.
“Systemic failure” under his watch. He’s still on $624,703.
Thanks to the generosity of Tauranga Ratepayers’ Alliance supporters, we have been able to take out a half-page advertisement calling on Council Chief Executive Marty Grenfell to resign.
We are enormously grateful to everyone who chipped in to make the advert possible.
The independent KC review into the Mount Maunganui landslide found serious systemic failures within Tauranga City Council and concluded that the tragedy, which claimed six lives, was preventable.
As the Council’s Chief Executive, Mr Grenfell is ultimately responsible for the organisation he leads. We do not believe Tauranga can simply move on from findings this serious without accountability at the top.

And we want to keep the pressure on. Newspaper advertising, digital campaigning and getting our message in front of Tauranga residents all costs money.
If you can help us continue this campaign, please chip in here.
Every dollar helps us make sure ratepayers’ voices cannot be ignored.
